How to verify a dentist in Colombia
Do not rely on a website badge. Ask for the provider’s exact name and facility information, then check official sources yourself.
1. Ask who will actually perform the procedure
Get the full name of the dentist or specialist expected to perform each major stage. A clinic brand name alone is not enough.
2. Check ReTHUS
Colombia’s Ministry of Health describes ReTHUS as the national health workforce information system where citizens can check whether health personnel have met practice requirements; it also includes certain sanction information.
3. Check REPS where applicable
REPS is the Ministry of Health’s Special Registry of Health Service Providers. Ask a prospective provider for the exact facility information needed to locate the relevant registration.
4. Still ask treatment-specific questions
Registration does not tell you whether a particular treatment is right for you, how much experience a clinician has with your specific procedure, what implant system will be used, or what happens if you need follow-up. Those questions still belong in your due diligence.
